The Tour Lowdown…
-
Kiwi Golf Adventures is about experiencing New Zealand the way a Kiwi golfer would — great courses, incredible landscapes, local culture, good food, a few beers and plenty of stories along the way.
We create small-group golf adventures for travelers who want more than a traditional golf vacation. The golf is world-class, but the trip is just as much about the places, people and experiences between the first tee and the final putt.
-
The 2027 Kiwi Classic is our signature 8-day North Island golf adventure.
The trip combines six rounds of golf with a road trip through some of the best parts of New Zealand's North Island. We'll experience Auckland city life, the rugged west coast, classic Kiwi beach towns, geothermal Rotorua and the lakes of the central North Island.
Along the way, expect great golf, local food, trout fishing, lake-house living and plenty of opportunities to experience New Zealand beyond the golf course.
-
The current itinerary includes six rounds:
Te Arai Links — One of New Zealand's premier modern golf destinations and a spectacular introduction to Kiwi golf.
Muriwai Golf Club — A true local experience on Auckland's wild west coast, surrounded by dunes, native landscape and views of the Tasman Sea.
Mount Maunganui Golf Club — A classic Kiwi club in one of New Zealand's best beach towns.
Rotorua Golf Club – Arikikapakapa — A uniquely New Zealand golf experience played amongst Rotorua's geothermal landscape.
Wairakei Golf + Sanctuary — Championship golf surrounded by native bush and wildlife near Lake Taupō.
Tieke Golf Estate — A modern New Zealand course built along the banks of the Waikato River and a fitting final round for the trip.
Courses and tee times are subject to availability and may change if necessary.
-
You don't need to be a scratch golfer.
The Kiwi Classic is designed for golfers who love the game, who live and breathe golf, and enjoy playing great courses, regardless of handicap. The emphasis is on the experience rather than posting a tournament score.
You should be comfortable playing a full round of golf and keeping pace with the group. A current handicap is helpful but isn't required.
-
No.
We'll probably have some friendly competitions, team games and bragging rights along the way, but this isn't a serious tournament (unless you want it to be).
Think golf trip first, competition second.
-
Kiwi Golf Adventures is intentionally designed around small groups (maximum of 12).
Keeping the group small allows us to travel together, stay in interesting places, get to know the local clubs and avoid the feeling of being part of a large packaged tour.
Final group size will be confirmed when bookings open.
-
We're not trying to move you from luxury hotel to golf course to luxury hotel without ever really experiencing New Zealand.
You'll play outstanding golf, but you'll also see how Kiwis actually live.
That might mean staying near the beach, grabbing a beer at a local pub after golf, fishing for trout, driving through the countryside, spending time at a lake house or playing a course that most international golf tourists would drive straight past.
The idea is simple:
Come for the golf. Leave talking about the New Zealand adventure.
-
Not in the traditional sense.
There will be premium golf and some incredible places to stay, but Kiwi Golf Adventures isn't built around white-glove luxury.
Our version of luxury is access, authenticity and experience — playing an unforgettable course in the morning, swimming at a Kiwi beach in the afternoon and sharing a few drinks overlooking the water that evening.
Less country-club formality. More unforgettable New Zealand.
-
Absolutely.
Golf is the backbone of the trip, but it isn't the entire trip.
Depending on the final itinerary, experiences may include trout fishing, beach time, lake activities, local restaurants and pubs, geothermal sights, exploring Auckland and Rotorua, and plenty of unscheduled time to enjoy where we are.
We deliberately leave room for the unexpected. Some of the best moments in New Zealand aren't on an itinerary.
-
Your host is Scott, a Kiwi who knows the country, the culture and the golf.
Scott will travel with the group throughout the adventure, helping take care of the logistics while giving guests a local connection to New Zealand.
Instead of following a tour guide holding a clipboard, think of it as having a Kiwi mate showing you around his home country.
-
Item The inaugural Kiwi Classic is planned for February/March 2027, during the New Zealand summer.
Final dates will be announced once golf, accommodations and the complete itinerary have been confirmed.
-
The trip is planned to begin and end in Auckland. The tour takes you through the heart of the North Island.
Final arrival and departure details will be provided before guests book their international flights.
-
International airfare is not expected to be included.
Guests will arrange their own flights to and from New Zealand, which gives everyone flexibility around airline preferences, points and extending their stay before or after the tour.
We'll provide recommended arrival and departure times so the group can meet up smoothly.
-
Road tripping is part of the experience.
Ground transportation during the tour will be organized by Kiwi Golf Adventures, allowing you to put away the rental-car keys and enjoy the journey.
Your golf clubs and luggage will travel with us.
-
Expect a mix of accommodation that reflects the places we're visiting.
That could include city hotels, beachside accommodation and a lake-house-style stay.
We prioritize location, comfort and character rather than staying at the same type of international hotel every night.
-
Initial pricing is based on twin-share accommodation.
Single and shared-room options will be clearly outlined when pricing and bookings are released.
If you're traveling with friends and want to share, we'll make that easy. If you'd prefer your own space, we'll explain the available single-room options and any associated supplement.
-
Yes, we recommend bringing your own clubs.
You're traveling halfway around the world to play some fantastic golf — you might as well have your own sticks in the bag.
We'll provide additional guidance on traveling with clubs, airline baggage policies and what to pack before departure.
-
New Zealand summers are generally warm, but the weather can change quickly.
We recommend packing normal golf attire along with a light rain jacket, an extra layer, comfortable casual clothes, walking shoes, swimwear and plenty of sunscreen.
A detailed packing list will be sent to guests before the trip.
And don't worry — you won't need eight days of country-club attire.
-
The final inclusions will be confirmed when bookings open, but the package is expected to include:
• Eight-day hosted New Zealand experience
• Six rounds of golf
• Accommodation during the tour
• Ground transportation during the itinerary
• Selected meals and group experiences
• Trout fishing and/or other scheduled activities
• Kiwi Golf Adventures host throughout the tripInternational airfare, some meals, personal purchases and other specifically excluded items will remain the guest's responsibility.
A complete list of inclusions and exclusions will be provided before any deposit is required.
-
Final pricing will be announced once golf, accommodation, transportation and activities have been confirmed.
Our goal is to create a premium small-group New Zealand golf experience without turning it into an overpriced luxury package.
Join the Kiwi Golf Adventures mailing list to be among the first to receive pricing and booking information.
-
Once bookings open, a deposit will secure your place. Contact us to start the discussion about joining our next adventure.
Because the trip is intentionally small, spaces will be limited. Full deposit amounts, payment schedules and cancellation terms will be clearly communicated before booking.
-
Cancellation and refund terms will be provided before you book.
Because we reserve golf, accommodation, transportation and activities well in advance, certain payments may become non-refundable as the departure date approaches.
We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance.
-
Yes. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation, interruption, medical expenses, lost or delayed baggage and golf equipment.
Specific insurance requirements, if any, will be included in the booking terms.
-
Definitely — and we'd encourage it if you have the time.
You've already flown all the way to New Zealand, so adding a few days before or after the Kiwi Classic can be a great way to see more of the country.
Whether you want to explore the South Island, play more golf, visit wine country or simply spend a few extra days at the beach, we're happy to point you in the right direction.
-
That's what we're here for.
Kiwi Golf Adventures is intentionally small and personal. If you're considering joining us and want to know whether the trip is right for you, get in touch.
No call centers. No scripted sales pitch.
Just a conversation about golf, New Zealand and what could be a pretty unforgettable eight days.
Come for the golf. Stay for the Kiwi experience.
